Studies at ISLB

Studies at ISLB, which are conducted according to higher education study programmes acknowledged by the Ministry of Science and Education, are dynamic and highly oriented towards individual needs of students, the formation of their practical competence and provision of essential knowledge required for a working career.

The ISLB runs over 700 students with a growing share of international students from 8 different countries of the world and nearly 100 academicians and practitioners, the majority of whom hold scientific degrees.

All international students are offered the full-time study mode (the duration is 3 years).

ISLB provides a range of market-oriented courses taught in English. These courses are designed to offer students an opportunity to gain a broader knowledge and to receive specialized education in English provided by foreign and Lithuanian lecturers.

Professional Training and Career

ISLB places a great emphasis on the development of student's professional skills and competence. A significant part of the study programmes is dedicated to professional training. ISLB cooperates with various science and educational institutions, enterprises and business organisations. These contacts facilitate traineeship placement in leading enterprises.

The study programmes implemented at ISLB meet the demands of a contemporary labour market. The Career Centre established at ISLB provides consultancy for students on career planning and job search strategies and tactics. With the help of the Career Centre, our students are better equipped to get a desired position and successfully compete on the labour market. According to statistics, 83% of ISLB graduates get employed in line with their speciality, and 71% of students get a job in the course of professional training, 5% have started their own business.

International studies and recognition

Most of the ISLB programmes offer a fee&time-saving pathway to the EU degrees or diplomas. What proves that ISLB has won a reputation of a strong international academic partner.

ISLB is successfully participating in the Extended Erasmus University Charter as well. It facilitates student placements abroad and offers a possibility to strengthen student's skills in the international arena. ISLB has signed over 100 Bilateral Agreements with partner institutions in the frames of LLP/Erasmus programme and Nordplus Framework Programme as well as Master studies in Europe and South Korea. International full-time students may also use this unique opportunity and participate in Erasmus.

Scientific Activities

ISBL publishes two periodical journals of peer reviewed research papers: "Verslo ir teisės aktualijos / Current Issues of Business and Law", and continuously conducting a number of international and national projects.

From the very beginning of studies the students are involved in scientific activities. ISLB organizes an annual conference Business from the Students' Perspective. This event provides a platform for students and young scientists to present their research papers and hold discussions. A special publication offering conference proceedings and a compilation of student research papers is published.

In 2007 ISLB established the Scientific Students Union, an organization that unites students and young scientists conducting R&D in the field of law, organizes conferences and advises students on research paper writing.
