Knowledge and competence assessment system
Exam result assessment in marks is governed by the levels of achieving objectives in the subject, which are rated as follows:
· Highest achievement level (9-10 points). All tasks were performed; answers were acceptable, exhaustive and reasoned; several ways of problem solving were provided and the optimal ones selected; different and adequate theoretical models and methods of analysis were applied; final results were compared; versatile theoretical knowledge was demonstrated as required in indicated task objectives.
· Average achievement level (7-8 points); more than 2/3 of all tasks was performed; answers to questions and problems were acceptable and reasoned; adequate theoretical models and methods of analysis were applied; sufficient theoretical knowledge was demonstrated as required in indicated task objectives.
· Minimum required achievement level (5-6 points); more than half of all tasks were performed; answers were substantially acceptable; problems solved; acceptable theoretical models and methods of analysis were applied; minimum required theoretical knowledge was demonstrated as required in indicated task objectives.
The exam is considered to be passed if subject objectives are achieved at no less than minimum required achievement level. Accumulative mark is used to assess students’ knowledge. Knowledge and competences are tested during seminars, tests and accounting for completed independent work (a paper). These assessments act as a part of credit evaluation.
· Final credit evaluation consists of:
· Accumulative mark – 30-40%;
· Attendance – 5-10%
· Tests -10%
· Independent work – 20-30%
· Credit – 60-70%.
Accumulative mark system is not applied for a student who gets a negative subject evaluation. In this case in final accounting a student gets a negative final evaluation. Negative evaluations are not recorded in official documentation (academic notes, etc.). A student, who is not satisfied with his / her credit evaluation, has the right to appeal to the dean of the faculty no later than in three days after credit evaluation has been announced. Teaching practice is evaluated by the dean or the practice tutor of the adequate department when a student maintains his/her practice report of fulfilled tasks. Students who have not fulfilled the requirements appointed for teaching practice and have got a negative record about his/her work during practice or insufficient report evaluation, must rewrite practice report or might be sent to redo practice individually at their free time or during the holidays.
